Key Notes

  • Version 3.8 arrives November 12 with Lily, a new story act, Lullaby and the Calamity Effigy challenge.
  • Rover gains attribute-specific Echo switching, while a Material Locator and Blitz Mode shorten the steps between material challenges.
  • PC resource tools begin as a limited test, and the new console graphics preset is unavailable on base PS5 and Xbox Series S.

Wuthering Waves version 3.8 launches on November 12, bringing new Resonator Lily, another main-story chapter and changes designed to make material farming and character management less cumbersome. The update, titled Lilies in a Dying Dream, also adds graphics options for selected consoles and begins testing more flexible PC resource downloads.

Kuro Games previewed the release on November 6, specifying the date in UTC+8. Its official trailer, embedded above, introduces the update’s setting and characters; the published overview lays out which improvements players can expect and which remain restricted.

Lily Joins a New Story Chapter

The main quest continues with Chapter IV, Act V: A Bouquet for Tomorrow. Lily joins the roster alongside the new weapon Lullaby, while Calamity Effigy becomes a new Tactical Hologram challenge for players looking beyond the story missions.

Kuro has also outlined two phases of featured Resonator and weapon events. These are part of the game’s character and equipment acquisition system; the overview should not be mistaken for a promise that every featured character is being given away.

Separate Reverb events allow players to select a five-star Resonator or weapon as their featured target and change that selection. The preview directs players to further announcements for the detailed conditions, so a selectable target is not enough information to calculate a guaranteed acquisition cost.

Hiyuki receives the Lune Noire deluxe outfit and a Flaming Sakura accessory. The event lineup mixes leisure activities, a commission event and Dreamfield Odyssey combat challenges, alongside seven-day and limited-time login events.

Fewer Menus Between Material Runs

Several changes address tasks existing players repeat frequently. Rover’s redesigned Resonance Conversion page will automatically equip the Echo set assigned to the selected attribute, with separate sets retained for each attribute.

That should reduce the need to rebuild an equipment setup whenever Rover changes roles. It is a management improvement rather than an announcement that Echo progression or the requirements for building those sets are disappearing.

A Material Locator is being added to the Guidebook’s material collection page and the Resonator Ascension Planner. It connects required materials with unlocked challenges, allowing players to travel to the relevant activity or start it directly.

After a material challenge, the new Blitz Mode option lets players restart from the reward-claim screen without reloading. Kuro is also adjusting turning animations, movement transitions and combat hit reactions. Those are developer-described improvements; the preview does not provide independent performance measurements.

PC and Console Features Have Limits

PC players are getting Full Resources and Basic Resources choices in the launcher, plus an upgraded cleanup feature for reclaiming storage. However, Kuro explicitly describes these tools as a gradual, limited test. Their inclusion in version 3.8 does not mean every PC account will receive them immediately.

Supported consoles will gain Performance and Quality options, but the setting is unavailable on the base PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S. PS5 Pro owners can enable PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution to enhance image resolution up to 4K; that is an upscaling option, not a claim of native 4K rendering.

The distinction matters when deciding what to expect from the download. New quests and events lead the update, but storage controls and graphics settings depend on the rollout and hardware. Players should check the platform-specific notices rather than assume every feature shown in the preview applies to their device.
