Key Notes
- S-GAME reports more than 4 million Phantom Blade Zero copies sold in 72 hours without disclosing the platform split.
- SteamDB records a peak of 833,921 concurrent Steam players, placing the game 14th in its all-time ranking.
- Alinea’s earlier estimate of 850,000 Steam and PlayStation preorders covers different storefronts and dates from the studio’s new total.
Phantom Blade Zero has sold more than 4 million copies in 72 hours, developer S-GAME has announced. The martial arts action RPG’s first sales milestone follows a major opening weekend on PC and PlayStation 5, with its Steam audience continuing to grow after launch.
The studio announced the result on November 2 and thanked players for their support. It did not provide a platform breakdown, leaving the overall sales total as the clearest official measure of the game’s commercial start.
Preorders Built a Head Start
The launch did not begin from zero sales. Before release, Alinea Analytics estimated that Phantom Blade Zero had already sold approximately 850,000 digital copies across Steam and PlayStation. Its October 27 analysis assigned 73.8% of those copies to Steam and 26.2% to PS5.
Alinea estimated about $43 million in revenue from those two storefronts, with a different revenue split because of regional pricing. It also said the analysis excluded sales through Tencent’s WeGame storefront in China, so its estimate did not cover every route to buying the PC version.
Those figures are market-research estimates from before release, while the 4 million milestone comes directly from S-GAME. The different coverage and reporting dates mean that subtracting 850,000 from the new total would not establish an exact number of copies purchased after launch.
The earlier analysis nevertheless shows that the game had substantial paid demand before players could begin the full adventure. The studio’s new announcement supplies a much broader result, but it does not reveal how much of the cumulative total came from preorders or how the platforms now compare.
Steam Peak Climbs to 833,921
SteamDB records an all-time high of 833,921 simultaneous Steam players on November 1. That places Phantom Blade Zero 14th in the tracker’s historical ranking, behind Baldur’s Gate 3 and ahead of Battlefield 6 at the time of writing.
We reported on the game reaching 723,876 concurrent Steam players on launch day. The higher weekend peak adds 110,045 to that earlier high, showing that its largest simultaneous audience arrived after the initial release-day surge.
A concurrency peak measures how many people are playing at once, rather than copies sold or the number of different owners. It covers Steam only, excluding PS5 and other PC storefronts. The chart therefore supports the picture of a heavily played launch without providing the missing platform split for S-GAME’s sales figure.
A Martial Arts Adventure on PC and PS5
S-GAME’s official website lists the launch as October 29. Phantom Blade Zero is available on PS5 and PC, including Steam and the Epic Games Store. We previously detailed the studio’s launch trailer and plans for PS5 physical editions in 2027, a separate release from the current digital launch.
The game follows Soul, a warrior with 66 days left to live, through a setting combining wuxia storytelling, fantasy and folk horror. Its Steam listing describes a single-player action RPG built around fast martial arts combat and an extensive arsenal.
The PC listing includes adjustable difficulty, full controller support, Steam achievements and cloud saves. It also recommends playing with a controller. Those options describe how players can approach the adventure; the sales announcement itself does not disclose completion rates, refund figures or an updated revenue total.
