The Tarnished Mirror Bridges the First Two Games
The new campaign comes from the team behind The Black Parade, a fan campaign for Thief Gold. It takes place between The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age and follows Garrett through imprisonment, uneasy alliances and a submerged necropolis. Nightdive is including it in the base game, so players can get the new missions with the standard edition. Steam listing
The remaster keeps the original’s focus on light, sound and route planning. The same hallway can be a safe crossing or a quick way to alert a guard depending on its floor and how much light reaches it. Difficulty settings can change mission objectives as well as the conditions players have to work around. We’ve previously covered how New Blood describes games built around similarly open-ended systems.
Where to Play the Remaster
The digital release covers PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. On PC, it will be available through Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG. Nightdive says players who buy the digital Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 edition for free. The Xbox release supports Xbox Play Anywhere. Platform details
Nightdive is using its KEX engine for the remaster and lists PC mod compatibility among its features, including support for The Black Parade. The official listing also confirms modern controller support. Nightdive’s overview
