Nintendo’s new Ocarina of Time overview revisits Link’s adventure before the November 5 Switch 2 release, with rebuilt visuals, revised controls and ZELDA NOTES support.
Nintendo has released a new overview trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, ahead of the remake’s November 5, 2026 launch on Nintendo Switch 2. The presentation returns attention to Link’s journey through Hyrule as the company prepares one of its major anniversary releases.
The official trailer, embedded above, was uploaded by Nintendo of America on October 14. Nintendo’s regional news listing followed on October 15. Pre-orders are already available, and Nintendo describes the game as rebuilt from the ground up exclusively for Switch 2.
The story retains the central idea of Link’s growth and an adventure that crosses time. Nintendo’s overview describes exploring Hyrule, meeting its inhabitants, fighting monsters and solving dungeon puzzles with equipment that includes the game’s namesake ocarina.
The previously published anniversary announcement sets out the scale of the remake: overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue and symphonic orchestral music. Camera and movement controls have also been reworked. These are announced changes to the presentation and handling, rather than a simple resolution increase for an older release.
That distinction matters for returning players. A familiar dungeon can feel different when the camera and movement change, while voices and expanded dialogue can alter the rhythm of a scene even when the underlying story is recognizable. How successfully those elements fit together will depend on the released game.
The overview is promotional material, not a review. It provides a new official reference for Nintendo’s version of the remake, but it does not establish how the entire adventure performs or how every system behaves over a full playthrough.
Nintendo confirms support for ZELDA NOTES, a game-specific service accessed through the Nintendo Switch App on smart devices. Players who intend to use the companion service will therefore need to consider the app alongside the console game.
The company also says amiibo from the Zelda series can provide in-game items. Two new figures, Young Link and Young Zelda, will unlock special masks. Nintendo’s anniversary announcement dates those figures to 2027, so they should not be confused with accessories promised for the game’s November launch.
The hardware celebration has its own timetable. Nintendo has announced a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 console, an anniversary Pro Controller and a carrying case with screen protector for October 29. Those products precede the game by a week and are separate purchases.
The confirmed platform is Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo’s wording does not announce a version for the original Switch, and the overview’s arrival does not change the November 5 release date. Players comparing editions or bundles should use the product listing for their own region rather than assume every anniversary accessory includes the game.
We recently reported on Nintendo’s continued commitment to physical releases. That wider strategy is relevant to collectors, although the contents and availability of an individual Ocarina of Time package still need to be checked separately.
For now, the new overview offers a clear point of entry for newcomers and a fresh look for players returning to the 1998 adventure. The next milestone is the remake’s release, when its new presentation and controls can be assessed across the complete game.
Rockstar has released GTA VI’s launch trailer, captured in-game on PS5, as Jason and Lucia’s return to Vice City approaches its November 19 console debut.
