Key Notes

  • GamesBeat cites four industry sources pointing to a January–March 2027 PC release for GTA VI, while Rockstar has not publicly announced that window.
  • Rockstar still lists November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so the reported PC launch would follow consoles by weeks or months rather than arrive on the same day.
  • A first-quarter PC launch would sharply shorten GTA V’s roughly 19-month wait, but would not confirm system requirements, storefronts or online features.

Grand Theft Auto VI could arrive on PC in the first quarter of 2027, according to GamesBeat, potentially bringing computer players into Leonida just a few months after the console launch. The reported window runs from January through March and has not been announced by Rockstar Games.

GamesBeat’s Alexander Lee reports that four industry sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans identified that target. All requested anonymity to protect business relationships. The outlet says a Rockstar representative did not respond to its request for comment before publication.

A PC Target After the November Console Launch

Rockstar’s official site continues to list November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC is not among the advertised launch platforms, so the new report does not indicate a simultaneous release across consoles and computers.

If both the announced console date and the reported PC window hold, the gap would range from roughly six weeks to just over four months. That is a considerably shorter wait than GTA V’s original console-to-PC transition, although a quarter-long target does not identify a specific release day.

The distinction matters for anyone deciding whether to buy a console for GTA VI. GamesBeat’s account provides a concrete reported window to consider, but it is still information from unnamed sources rather than a official PC announcement. Rockstar has not attached a public commitment to those dates.

GTA V’s PC Release Took Around 19 Months

The previous mainline game first reached consoles on September 17, 2013. Rockstar’s 2013 announcement established that date, while its eventual PC release followed on April 14, 2015. The interval was approximately 19 months, rather than a full two years.

A first-quarter 2027 launch would put GTA VI’s PC edition much closer to its initial console release. Computer-only players would spend less time waiting for access, and players choosing between platforms could weigh a relatively short delay against buying another device.

That comparison describes timing, rather than a promise about technical features. The reported window does not establish PC system requirements, frame-rate targets, graphics settings or storefront availability. Those details will determine what the game actually offers on different computers, regardless of how quickly it arrives.

A Native PC Version Is Different From Cloud Access

The report follows a separate dispute over GTA VI streaming. We covered Xbox’s denial that the game would stream exclusively through its service or become playable on PC through that arrangement at launch. The new GamesBeat story concerns a native PC version, rather than a way to stream the console game to a Windows device.

A native edition runs on the player’s computer. Cloud streaming runs the game on remote hardware and sends the output to another device. A date for one does not establish access to the other, and neither should be treated as confirmation that GTA VI will be included in a subscription.

PC also has an established role in GTA’s creator community. In August 2023, Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, announced that it had joined Rockstar. Its statement specifically described work on those existing platforms, rather than revealing plans for the next GTA.

That history explains interest beyond simply running the campaign on a computer, but it does not confirm GTA VI mod support, roleplay servers or an online launch date. Those remain separate product questions that a PC scheduling report cannot settle.

For now, November 19 remains Rockstar’s announced console release date. January–March 2027 is GamesBeat’s reported target for PC. A formal announcement from Rockstar would turn that shorter waiting period from a reported plan into a date players can rely on.
