Key Notes

  • Rockstar released GTA VI’s official launch trailer on October 15, five weeks before the announced November 19 debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • The studio says the trailer was captured entirely in-game on PS5 and introduces a Justice single featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
  • The confirmed launch remains console-only, while the reported first-quarter 2027 PC release window has not been announced by Rockstar.

Rockstar Games has released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, with the game still scheduled to arrive on November 19, 2026. The new video landed on October 15, leaving five weeks until the announced launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The official upload is titled “Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer,” rather than Trailer 3. Rockstar says the footage was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5. The video is embedded above, and it is also available on the studio’s trailer page.

Jason and Lucia’s Leonida Story

GTA VI follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos through Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida. Rockstar’s story synopsis places the pair inside a criminal conspiracy after a seemingly straightforward score goes wrong, making their relationship central to the struggle to get out alive.

The launch trailer joins a promotional lineup that already includes the first two numbered trailers and August’s An Extended Look. Rockstar’s media archive keeps those earlier videos available, giving players a way to revisit the longer presentation alongside the new release.

For anyone following the long development, we detailed how Rockstar expanded its team, narrowed the project’s original scope and worked through successive delays. The new trailer brings attention back to the finished game’s approaching launch after years of changes behind the scenes.

New Justice Music Leads the Trailer

Rockstar identifies electronic duo Justice as the composers of GTA VI’s original score. The launch trailer introduces “Flower in a Hurricane,” a Justice single featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

The track is also part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. According to the video’s description, the soundtrack is available to pre-save through major music streaming services, with vinyl and CD editions offered for pre-order. Rockstar directs listeners to the album website for those options.

That gives the trailer a second purpose beyond promoting the game’s release: it introduces music connected to GTA VI’s broader soundtrack. The album and the original score are related parts of the project, but the announcement does not say that every soundtrack contributor composed the game’s score.

November 19 Is the Console Release

Rockstar’s official site continues to list November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The trailer’s arrival does not change the announced platform lineup, and Rockstar has not supplied an official PC release date.

We recently reported on GamesBeat’s claim that a PC version could follow in the first quarter of 2027. That remains an unconfirmed report, separate from the console launch date shown in Rockstar’s current materials.

The PS5 capture statement also has a specific scope: it identifies the hardware used for this promotional video. It does not, by itself, establish the frame rate, resolution or available graphics modes for every version of the finished game. Those details require their own confirmation rather than assumptions drawn from an edited trailer.
