Frame Rate

Measured in frames per second, or FPS, frame rate strongly affects motion clarity and responsiveness. A stable 60 FPS presents a new frame about every 16.7 milliseconds, while 30 FPS allows roughly 33.3 milliseconds. Higher figures can make movement look smoother and reduce the delay between input and visible response, provided the display refresh rate and game pipeline keep pace. Average FPS does not tell the whole story: uneven frame times produce stutter even when the average seems high. Resolution, visual settings, CPU work, GPU load, and frame-rate caps all influence performance.
