Strikerz Faces Major Layoffs as UFL Struggles to Gain Momentum
Strikerz is preparing major layoffs that could reduce its workforce by more than half, as the Cyprus-based studio faces mounting pressure around its football simulator UFL.
Motion capture, or mocap, gives animators recorded movement from a real performance. Cameras or sensors track markers, suits, faces, hands, or props, then software solves that information onto a digital skeleton. The captured result is not automatically final: teams clean noise, correct contacts, edit timing, combine takes, and exaggerate motion to fit gameplay. Performance capture records body, face, and voice together for a unified scene. Games use the technique for cinematics, sports animation, combat, and traversal, often blending captured data with keyframe animation and procedural systems.
