enish has announced DanMachi: Frontier Zero, a new game based on the anime Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, for PC, iOS and Android. The company’s announcement targets a 2027 release and says the project is planned for Japan and overseas markets.
The main story will be created with the cooperation of original author Fujino Omori. enish describes it as a game-original narrative, rather than a straightforward retelling of material already shown in the novels or anime. The announcement does not reveal that story’s setting, playable characters or relationship to particular arcs of the series.
PC and mobile are both listed as supported platforms. That confirms the intended device categories, but not a specific PC storefront, cross-play or cross-progression. The publisher has also not announced the game’s genre, combat system, price or business model, so the anime license alone should not be taken as confirmation of a particular style of RPG.
The underlying franchise follows Bell Cranel’s adventures in a city built around a vast underground dungeon. In its introduction to the project, enish says the original light-novel series has surpassed 20 million copies in circulation. That is a publishing figure for the source series, not game sales or an audience forecast for Frontier Zero.
The announcement is an initial reveal rather than a launch or playable-test invitation. A specific release date and regional distribution details remain unannounced. enish says it will share further information through the game’s official account; Gematsu’s announcement coverage likewise lists 2027 without narrowing the window.
