Atari and MobyGames are launching Moby Professional, a new online platform aimed at game industry workers seeking jobs, networking options, and business development opportunities. Game Developer reported that the service will use MobyGames’ large credits database as the foundation for professional profiles and career tools.

The platform will offer both free and premium tiers. The free version allows developers to claim individual profiles and update credit information, while the premium tier is priced at $14.99 per month and includes personalized job listings, recommendations, compensation range data, and visibility into professional connections at companies. Premium features will be free during a beta period expected to run through the end of summer 2026.

Atari is pitching the product as a response to a difficult employment market. The games industry has been hit by layoffs, studio closures, consolidation, and a rise in freelance and contract work. In that environment, a credits-based professional platform could offer more relevant context than generic job boards or broader networking sites.

The strategic advantage is MobyGames’ dataset. According to Atari, the database covers more than 350,000 games and add-ons, 1.3 million individuals, and 50,000 companies. That could allow Moby Professional to map career paths, shared credits, studio relationships, tools, genres, and platform experience in ways that standard job platforms do not capture.

The commercial question is whether developers will pay for specialized career intelligence at a time when many are already under financial pressure. The free beta should help adoption, but long-term retention will depend on whether the platform can turn credits data into useful job leads, business connections, and practical career navigation.
