Sensor Tower says Whiteout Survival became the world’s highest-grossing mobile game in June 2026. The survival strategy title led global mobile game revenue for the month, ahead of Royal Match, Honor of Kings, Gossip Harbor and MONOPOLY GO!, which completed the top five.
Sensor Tower said Whiteout Survival’s rise was driven by a strong in-app event calendar. The Children’s Day Surprise event produced the game’s sharpest revenue spike of the month, while recurring events such as Alliance Mobilization and Frostdragon Tyrant helped sustain spending through late June.
Royal Match kept its No. 2 position by worldwide revenue, supported by a busy live-ops schedule that included challenges, seasonal progression and level expansions. Honor of Kings also performed strongly, with late-June momentum tied to the S44 “Unbound Destiny” update, which added new skins, Battle Pass content and gameplay features.
The broader revenue picture showed a softer month for mobile gaming spending. Global consumer spending on mobile games across the App Store and Google Play reached $6.1 billion in June, down 7% month over month. The United States remained the largest market with 30% of total revenue, followed by China on iOS only at 15.7% and Japan at 12.1%.
Live Ops Continue to Drive Spending
The June rankings show how much the mobile games market now depends on live operations. Sensor Tower’s analysis points to a clear pattern: the strongest revenue performers were not simply the biggest brands, but the games with frequent events, timed updates and reasons for players to return throughout the month.
Gossip Harbor leaned on narrative-driven live events, including Deep-sea Odyssey, which delivered its strongest performance in June. MONOPOLY GO! sustained engagement through a month-long Simpsons collaboration across themed albums, racers and partner events.
That pattern extended beyond the main revenue ranking. Whiteout Survival also ranked No. 1 worldwide on Sensor Tower’s revenue growth chart, again supported by its event cadence. SOL: enchant ranked No. 2 by worldwide revenue growth after launching in Korea on June 18.
Sports also played a major role. Sensor Tower noted that real-world events such as the FIFA World Cup helped lift football games in June. EA Sports FC Mobile saw sustained download and revenue growth through its “The World’s Game” event, while eFootball and Inazuma Eleven Cross also benefited from tournament-themed content and football-related momentum.
Roblox Tops Global Downloads
Roblox was the most downloaded mobile game worldwide in June 2026, surpassing Free Fire, which ranked second. Arrows Puzzle Escape, Arrows GO! and Block Blast! rounded out the top five by downloads.
Roblox’s No. 1 position was supported by a mix of sports, fashion and branded experiences. Sensor Tower highlighted FIFA Super Soccer, NBA Champions Trade Hub, Prism Runway Show and Fischfest as examples of events that helped drive activity during the month. The platform’s performance again shows how Roblox functions less like a single game and more like a mobile ecosystem built around multiple IP activations.
Free Fire ranked No. 2 globally by downloads, helped by its ninth anniversary celebration on June 23. Anniversary rewards, limited-time content and community events created the month’s largest single-day download spike, nearly doubling daily installs at peak across key markets.
Global mobile game downloads reached 3.64 billion in June, down 3.6% month over month. India led downloads with 674 million installs, equal to 18.5% of the global total. The United States followed with 7.8%, while Brazil ranked third with 6.2%.
Puzzle Mechanics and Football Events Gain Ground
The download rankings also showed continued momentum for directional puzzle games. Arrows Puzzle Escape, Arrows GO! and Arrow Puzzle: Tap Puzzle Games all appeared in the top 10, reflecting strong demand for simple mechanics, rapid retry loops and short-form video creatives that work well across paid user acquisition channels.
On the downloads growth chart, Meowdoku! ranked No. 1 worldwide. The game combines classic sudoku mechanics with a cat-themed 2D cartoon style, giving it a lightweight hypercasual appeal.
Two new June launches also stood out on the worldwide downloads growth chart. Pokémon Champions brought the Pokémon brand into turn-based mobile RPG battles with 3D anime visuals, while Zoo Prank: Crazy Animals used chaotic first-person zoo gameplay to drive discovery in emerging markets.
Football games also gained visibility across the download growth chart. Soccer Superstar benefited from World Cup-timed events such as Global Cup Season and Road to the Championship, while eFootball and Football League 2026 used tournament-style content to re-engage players.
Sensor Tower’s June report reinforces a central trend in mobile gaming: growth is increasingly tied to timing. The strongest games are using live events, branded partnerships, sports calendars, IP collaborations and rapid content updates to keep players engaged. In a softer spending month, those tactics helped Whiteout Survival lead revenue and Roblox dominate downloads.
