Enshrouded has reached version 1.0, completing its transition out of Early Access and opening the full world of Embervale. Keen Games marked the October 15 launch with an official release update, while returning PC players can keep both their purchase and their existing saves.
The developer’s changelog adds the northern Cinder’s Cradle biome and brings the current main story to its conclusion. Progression extends to player level 50 and equipment level 55, while new crafting tiers, enemies and spells give established characters more to pursue. The update also opens previously inaccessible areas around older biomes, rather than limiting the expansion to one isolated region.
Keen’s launch FAQ confirms that owners of the PC Early Access version do not need to buy the game again. Older worlds are converted to a more efficient save format. Existing characters have their skill trees reset on first loading version 1.0, so players need to spend their skill points again before setting out.
Builders also gain Sparkworks, a logic system for turning their creations into interactive adventures. Its uses range from switches and lighting to traps, puzzles and enemy encounters. Keen has reworked early progression, crafting and exploration rewards as well, giving new players a different introduction and returning players a reason to consider a fresh world without making one mandatory.
Cross-platform play is not included at launch. Keen says it is working on the feature but has not provided a timetable, an important limitation for friends planning to play together across systems. Early Access supporters can also claim three exclusive decorative props through the Redeem Add-Ons menu; those owners can place the decorations in friends’ worlds.
