Aim Assist

Designed mainly for controllers and touchscreens, aim assist modifies targeting to compensate for the limited precision of an analog stick or finger. A game may slow the reticle near an opponent, add slight rotational tracking, increase target adhesion, or make projectiles more forgiving. It is not identical to an aimbot: aim assist is an intentional game feature with rules set by the developer, while an aimbot is unauthorized software that aims for the player. Its strength is frequently debated in cross-play shooters because mouse and controller users have different input advantages.
